When you leave your rented property – whether it’s an apartment, flat or house – it is highly likely that there is a clause in your rental agreement that you clean the property before you vacate, and we know from experience that landlord’s are quick to evoke the clause if their property isn’t cleaned to an acceptable standard.
That’s why it makes sense to use the services of a specialist end-of-tenancy cleaning service that guarantees the work and gives you peace of mind that your rented property will pass inspection on the cleaning front. Montagu has a highly experienced and professional team of end-of-tenancy cleaners who will conduct a thorough clean throughout and even take away rubbish, leaving the property clean and tidy.
End-of-tenancy cleaning is a job most tenants hate, as they are ready and keen to move on into new accommodation, so it makes sense to delegate this job to the experts. Montagu’s cleaning team is fully vetted and insured and our work is guaranteed, so our service gives you peace of mind and your landlord assurance that your property will be left sparkling clean.

Do I need end-of-tenancy cleaning?
It depends on the terms of your tenancy agreement, but in most agreements there is a clause that the tenant needs to conduct a thorough cleaning service before handing the property back to the landlord. In our experience, most landlords are strict to invoke this clause, and if you don’t comply, your deposit may be at risk. The deposit is made to protect the landlord’s property and ensure that it is left in the same condition it was taken. In London, deposits are usually higher than other parts of the UK, and in some cases can be three times the monthly rental. Landlords will do a final check of the property before reimbursing your deposit, so if you want your deposit returned in full, it is worth using a professional end-of-tenancy cleaning service which guarantees a thorough clean. The price of this usually far outweighs the potential loss of deposit.
What happens if the landlord cleaning check fails?
From the outset, we will agree with you the extent of the cleaning service required, and if necessary we will check over your tenancy agreement to see that all aspects are covered.
If your landlord is unhappy about the standard of end-of-tenancy clean, we will ask that you provide the details to us in writing (email is fine), so that we can carry out our own further check and remedy any work that isn’t up to standard. If necessary, we will deal directly with your landlord to ensure that all parties are satisfied with the service.
Do you offer any cleaning guarantees
YES. Our quotation will include the complete scope of cleaning work to be carried – it will all be listed, and once agreed, we will carry out everything that we have agreed to do. If we fail in any area, then we will remedy the work as quickly as possible. Remember that our work is carried out by our team of professional cleaners who have completed hundreds of successful end-of-tenancy cleans.
Do you have a cleaning checklist
YES. When you ask us to quote for your end-of-tenancy clean, we will provide a checklist of items for you to include or exclude from the job. It acts as a useful reminder of everything that may need a cleaning service.
How many cleaners can I expect to arrive?
It depends on the size of the property and whether the end-of-tenancy clean is required urgently. Most cleans for an average sized home are carried out by just one professional cleaner, but if the service needs to be done super quickly, we’ll put an extra operative on the job to speed things up.
How long does the cleaning service take?
Again, it very much depends on the size of the home. A one-bedroom apartment can usually be completed in around 4 hours, whereas a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom house will usually take a whole day. Also, it depends on the nature of the clean. If walls need wiping down, upholstery and soft furnishings cleaned, carpets cleaned or minor repairs made, extra time needs to be allowed, but when we consult with you at the time of quoting for the job, we will give an indication of the time needed.
Can you clean while I’m still at the property?
Ideally the property should be completely empty, as this makes it easier for us to do a thorough clean. But, if this isn’t possible, then we can work around you, doing the major work, with just a quick final vacuum or floor mopping as you leave.
